Beloved Toys

I have started painting a series of my son's beloved toys.  I started with his bear. It is still a work in progress, but it is coming along.

Lunch?

I found this painting I did last winter, which seems so far away in this heat.

Mouse's Dream

 Sketches for Mouse's Dream
by Barbara T. Hunt

Come listen my children come sit here by me, while I tell you a story. Just a small adventure about a mouse’s venture and a dream that came to be. For wherever dreams hide there hope will abide waiting to be found...

two owls and a hen,
four larks and a wren,
have all built their nests in my beard!"

Illustration Friday: Match

This week's IF submission. I was going for a dark look since the only light source is suppose to be the lit match. I think the piece works for this exercise. However, I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to more successfully portray a dark room and still make characters and overall scene pop.
